For once I think the guitar hero flaming is going to be merited because that is just absurd. I can not believe someone can make a living off of that.

I won a guitar hero competition one time. I won a $100 bar tab, maybe I should think about quitting my job too.

Man, that's the funniest and saddest thing I've read in a while.

I could slightly understand when I read about the guy who dropped out of college to play Halo (as he had over $2 million+ in earnings), but this is beyond ridiculous.

My parents would've kicked my ass if I told them I was going to drop out of school to focus on gaming. His parents are going to be kicking themselves for this decision when they've got an unemployed 40 year old living in their basement playing videogames.

What's beyond ridiculous is that there is a way to make over 2 million playing Halo. Not to say this isn't bad but come on. Why do some people glorify this?

Well, what do you think?

I like it... That's these boys playing?

[stops the tape] No, that's Kansas. But these boys scored a hundred thousand points to it on Expert Level in Co-op Mode.

Yeah, there's more proof that people need to take a bunch of tests to make sure they'll be good parents before they should be allowed to have a kid.

The parents will realize their mistake when the kid is in his thirties and living in their basement.

To many, it's similar to sports. I hear in South Korea professional gamers are treated like pro athletes

The pathetic part of this is - not as much the kid, because, well, he's a kid - but the Parents.

I consider their response to their child - pretty much criminally negligent behavior.

Why does it bother me that this kid could probably be a very good guitarist by now if he practiced all that time on a real guitar. At least he would then have a chance to be a musician.

I tell my kids this all the time. I have teenage boys who log Big Time on RockBand. One of them has actually had the nerve to tell me how a song goes after hearing me play it on drums. His source of info - the track of the song on RockBand.

If the hours that kids spend gaming were applied to a musical instrument, we'd have an Army of amazing musicians coming up.
