A kid falls off a bridge, breaks his back, and the cops come and taze him 19 times.

I don't understand how after this incident the police can issue a statement saying they did because someone with a broken back was not complying.

There's got to be more to it. I can't imagine cops tazing a semi-conscious kid just laying there.

I agree. This doesn't sound right at all.

Its always easier to taser a guy lying in the middle of the road in order to keep him from getting hit by on-coming traffic than to set your cruiser up as a barricade. That said, I would have tasered him a couple of more times just to be sure he wasn't a terrorist.

Seriously though, if his parents knew he fell off the overpass, and they were close enough to count how many times the cops tasered him, and they didn't refute the cop's statement that the kid was mouthing off to them...why didn't they just explain to the cops that he fell off a freaking overpass, probably hit his head and ask if they could please quit tasering him?

Being that this is World Net Daily, I'm blaming my confusion on their usual, in-depth and thorough journalistic practices.

I don't even know what to say about this one, except to say that I don't know what to say.

'...according to the Doctor, all injuries were consistent w/a fall...'

Good thing too or they would have had to taser the Doc.

Someone check Youtube and figure out what really happened, this video has to be up by now .

Couldn't operate because of an elevated white count caused by tasing? Anyone care to elaborate?

I get the impression that the kid had a failed suicide attempt and maybe he thought he could piss the cops off and get them to shoot him dead instead.. Which also failed miserably..

Can cops even taze you for verbal threats? I though they could only taze you if you attacked them.

Poor kid.

"He refused to comply with the officers and so the officers had to deploy their Tasers in order to subdue him," Capt. Thomas Rousset said. "He is making incoherent statements; he's also making statements such as, 'Shoot cops, kill cops,' things like that. So there was cause for concern to the officers."
Thats all I need to hear. No sympathy to anyone.

=1 to failed suicide attempt aswell
