The people who bought the kidney didn't know/care what he was going to do with the money. Organ trafficking has been a black market business for a long time.

hmmm... honestly, I don't see the problem with people selling their own organs on a market. It's their body, they can use it how they want.

besides, if this sort of thing were to become a bit more common if it were legalized, you'd probably see a drop in the price of having an organ transplanted for a medical emergency, due to the increased supply of resources.

the only thing that makes me sad about this article is the fact that the kid got so little compensation for his kidney. He probably could have gotten at least $50,000 for it. Hell, he could have gone to college with that kinda cash.

My thoughts on this have flipped constantly since I first heard the story yesterday. Here's the brief rundown:

1. STUPID KID!

2. At least he's not American, we don't need any more people talking about how stupid we are.

3. I kinda feel bad...

4. Technically you only need one kidney.

5. I guess it wasn't the dumbest thing ever if it was performed by some sort of licensed practitioner.... but the kid is still stupid.

Similarly, you could say there's no problem with people taking drugs, either. It's their body, they can expose it to whatever they want
