I want to see this movie.

My favorite movies are intelligent, quirky films or dumb comedies. This is the latter.

This is the one movie I most want to watch, ever since I saw the trailer late last summer. I wouldn't call it a "dumb" comedy, more silly. Definitely seems intelligent in a silly, lightheared way. I usually reserve the term "dumb comedy" for the endless stream of parody movies they keep churning out since Scary Movie.

Silly is probably a better word for what I'm thinking of. Monty Python, Mel Brooks, Judd Apatow etc. Jack Black is hit or miss for me, but this looks like a good vehicle for him and I love Mos Def.

I almost died laughing at the trailer for that movie.

I love all those!

Same here on both counts. I think Jack Black works well as a sidekick or partnered up with someone rather than trying to carry a movie by himself. I'll watch anything with Mos Def in it.

Cool! I hadn't hearrd about this, I'm looking forward to it. Mos, Jack, Gondry, movie parodies? Oh yes...

Has anyone seen this film?

The girlfriend and I caught it last night and we were in tears, in particular, during the Ghostbusters scene, which may have been some of the funniest stuff ever committed to film.

We hadn't heard anything about it and I usually avoid Jack Black films, but when we saw it was by the director of Eternal Sunshine and Science of Sleep we had to check it out and what a winner. A really great film and highly recommended.

I saw it the day after it came out, which would've been a saturday night. The theater was empty and I had heard nothing about the movie previously. One of the funniest movies I've seen in awhile. I like Rush Hour the best.

Yeah, I've wanted to see this movie since I saw the trailer for it a few months ago and it didn't disappoint.

I saw it Friday afternoon. So far it's the feelgood movie of the century!

Interestingly I did a search for it and your thread didn't come up - stupid search engine!

Well, since this thread's been bumped, I figured I should edit the first post with a new version of the trailer since the old one was taken down.

Maybe this thread can be merged with Latimour's.
