I`m still not completely convinced of this technology, but it sure looks interesting.

Ooh, an Xbox Wii!

Unless they have headtracking and incorporate it into 'normal' games, I can't say im all that interested.

Am I the only person who wants to be lazy when he plays video games?

Video games are something I do in my spare time to relax or take my mind off of things, which is usually after I'm done working/exercising and don't feel like jumping all over the place.

Considering these types of games/consoles are still in an early phase, I still think its easier (and more precise) to play games with direct controller input than hoping the sensors correctly interpret what I'm trying to do.

Overall, cool idea, just not enough interest over conventional vidja games for me to really get excited about.

I agree. I wouldn`t be surprised if that was part of the original intention behind video game consoles (ie. give people something to do while relaxing or when it`s too hot, cold, or wet to do something outside). But things have changed, societies have evolved, and people now spend more time inside on computers and gaming consoles than they do outside playing sports or exercising. I guess it`s a good thing game companies are realizing this and are stepping up to do something positive.

I'm not interested in kinect at all. I like my controller and I'm not a fan of mo-cap games.

Actually it is, but if I wanted a Wii, that's what I would play. Microsoft has found another way to suck pennies out of this console, and I'm fairly certain this will be my last Microsoft one, if not my last one altogether.

The video game industry has become stagnant and very rarely does something come out that interests me anymore. I find myself playing my N64, Gamecube and SNES games more an more often, although I don't know if its because I want to reminisce on olden times, or if the new consoles have failed me.

Really went off topic, but that's my .02.

If you're one of those that aren't embarrassed of playing Dance Dance Revolution in public, then the Kinect is for you. All in all, Kinect is awesome........if you're still five. I think I've out grown the prance around in your living room phase.

I hope you've grown out of the 'prance' phase altogether.

Meh, we'll see if they manage to develop some decent games for it. For now, I'll stick with my Wii.

I have to agree here. I've always been a Nintendo person myself anyway, but the motion abilities of the Wii were a novelty that got old real fast, at least for me. Thrownig in Wii Sports or a similar game when having people over is alright once in awhile, but when I'm sitting at home relaxing I don't want to have to jump around to play games. This is why I've enjoyed the recent games that have come out (Mario Kart, Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros.) which utilize the motion controls in such a way that don't require you to be jumping around. I'm not completely lazy, but video games are for relaxing and for fun, not for exercise. There's a time and place for it.

While I'm still impressed by the technology, I don't really care about it either. I, too, shall stick with my Wii.

+1

The last *recent* game that came out that had me playing for hours just out of sheer enjoyment was Star Wars Battlefront on the PS2. The game had no real story to it, but was just good solid fun whether you were doing single player or co op with a friend. In the same vein, the only system I`ve been playing at all recently (as in the past 2-3 years) has been my N64. Mario Kart, Mario Party, and NBA Hangtime keep bringing me back to that system, whereas Gears of War, Modern Warfare, Halo, and Bioshock have failed to keep me interested in my XBox. I`m pretty sure I might be done with gaming as well, or at least until I have kids at my own. At any rate, if I do get another system (and that`s a big if) I`m pretty sure I`ll go back to Nintendo. They seem to make the most replayable and fun games.

IMHO, IME, YMMV...

-It's buggy.

-you need to be at least 8feet away.

-It will cost $150

-it's games so far are Wii-fit clones, dancing, and 'pet wild animals'.

I'll let it mature a bit first and see how it works with other games.

...also, spending my gamer$$$ on a 3DS way before i'd consider a Kinect.

This. The Kinect is basically some rehash of the Wii motion abilities. Better or not (wouldn't know), Nintendo is looking to the future once again. Looks like Microsoft is still trying to catch up. Microsoft has never been innovative, whether it's vs. Nintendo or vs. Apple.
