Just wondering if anyone else finds it funny that the thread about UK knife violence was started by a Knifemaker.
I was surprised no one commented on it. |

I doubt very many thugs buy custom knives to carry in the streets. |

The only survery I could find after numerous searches on google was one linked to into the other thread (its a UK survey) that indicates (in terms of carrying) that kitchen knives only make up about 10% of the knives carried. Its possible that the 10% makes up 90% of the knife injuries, but that seems unlikely. GIven the relative ease at which you can buy a "cool" knife, I would have though those inclined to carry a knife would easily obtain a knife other than a kitchen knife.

I don't have statistics to back me up, but if you include all stabbings, which would include domestic incidents, I am certain that kitchen knives will be the weapon of at greatest convenience, if not choice.

Just because something is said often or assumed doesn't make it true. Hence why I questioned whether there are any stats out there to verify this oft repeated claim or whether it's merely supposition.

Are you upset about something? Anything we can help with? If I want to test whether an "off repeated" claim is true, how does that harm you?
