In the US, no clue, I'd think so, but it's possible that the policies are a lot stricter over there. |

Come On!!
Honestly, I wouldn't risk it. Just ship it to your location. I shipped all my toiletries(sp) and had nothing but clothing in my bags. |

On board, only if you want to taste the airport floor. |

Also had a pocket knife, like you said, on a post 9/11 flight from toronto to new york, they were cool with it. You should do just fine. |

I don't see why it should be a problem considering it's under the plane and there's no real way for you to get to it to use against someone unless it's like Con Air and you're crawling under the plane shivving US marshalls.

You can even have an unloaded handgun in your checked luggage.

Yes, but you need to declare a handgun, have it inspected and sign for it. No need to mention a pocket knife. |

Just a friendly piece of advice, if it's a spendy one (Chris Reeve, etc), think twice about it. There are unethical TSA folks just like there are in other lines of work, and you don't want to argue sticky fingers with the TSA.
If I'm traveling, my CRKT goes with me, my nice stuff stays home.
