Anyone catch what he said about Hannah Storm? Hilarious, but it got him suspended two weeks.

I find him annoying for the most part, but props for telling it like it is about a co-worker.

Hmm, I missed that - Google News brings up a lot of links about his suspension, but none of them actually say what he said.

What was the general gist of it?

I think what Kornholer really wanted was to "tap it", and his comments were just sour grapes.

It's funny either way though.

That's it? Really? Well...who cares if she's 47. I totally would, and I'm half her age.

I love PTI. The open nature of ESPN guys is why I love it as an organization,Scott Van Pelt, Colin Cowherd, etc etc. Funny dudes.

I don't watch sports really, especially not ESPN (except poker at 3 in the morning sometimes)...but at first glance she looks like a transvestite.

This is awkward. At one level, I think Hannah Storm looks pretty good in that outfit myself. At another level, PTI is a free wheeling, trash-talking show, and I think Kornheiser should be able to tease another broadcaster (if he had dogged another man, no one would have said anything at all.) That said, gender is an issue, and a man passing judgement on a woman's appearance in a way that seems to judge her attractiveness/sexual desirability is a place that any man should avoid in a professional setting.

Nope - Apparently they aren't very happy about his comments about Chris Berman either.

Looks to be more of a "don't criticize fellow ESPN celebrities" more than a "don't pick on women" thing.

From what I see, the comments about Hannah Storm are getting more notice. What I said about criticizing a woman's appearance stands, IMO.

From the Seattle P-I

Kornheiser apologized for his comments the next day on his radio show.
"I'm a sarcastic, subversive guy...I'm a troll, look at me. I have no right to insult what anybody looks like or what anybody wears. That, I think, should go without saying," he said.

Heh!

Yes - by the general public.

That doesn't mean they're the reason he got suspended.

I'm betting if he says the same thing about a female, NON-ESPN anchor... no suspension.

From a show that talks about player's personal lives, where commentary such as "dude needs to hang up the cleats" is commonplace, where criticisms of players including their hairdos, etc. are a part of the show, I don't see why he got suspended for it.

If he said those comments about ANY male, we'd all be laughing and not even blinking an eyelash.
