Lets say for a minute I believe him. I dont, but seriously? I mean, doesnt a taser and gun weigh differently? Do they look that similar that you can confuse them? Also if the other officers were holding Oscar down, he didnt pose a threat right? Dont know 'bout this one guys.

This policy would have at least punched a huge hole in the *mistook my gun for a taser* defense. NOT sayin I'm 100% one way or the other as I was not there.

No one will be convinced of anything, there is no reasonable discussion that could take place here. This thread will end up having people stating what they believe and disrespect anyone who doesn't agree with them.
Boring.

He could also have pulled his handgun and held it ti the person he was trying to detain in an effort to get him to stop resisting(don't even ask me about this). Or hell maybe he's a racist pig that loves shooting ******* what do I know.
That just about covers the typical view points from thought out to sceptical to pure conjecture. I'm not racist and I don't really care if you are black, white man woman or whatever, you're not better off than the next person. If my post seems rather rude and brash, take into account that's how a lot of your posts sound to me and others. And to be quite honest the constant bickering her as of late is just pathetic.

That being said, an effective way of avoiding the escalating consequences of needless confrontations with law enforcement (or with anyone else for that matter) is to not misbehave in the first place.

Honestly, I paid $20 so I can argue with folks on the internet? No thanks. | In regards to your first paragraph, thats actually what Im looking for, considering you have had experience with both. I was hoping the law enforcement experts would chime in. Im willing to give the benefit of the doubt because I havent been in that position or known enough about the differences in a taser and side arm. Just looks shaky to me, esp. considering their placement and the scene. People arent always fishing for the race issue (funny how others bring that in yet complain about it).
As far as the second, are you referring to me, because I hardly ever post here at all . And who are these "others"? Did you call a secret TB meeting? *shrugs* Did you pay to click on threads you dont care for or support the site? Hmmm. Quote:

Boring. | Man please, if you feel that way, dont click...start your own thread....practice.
Simple.
Also, I could easily start a "whats the best driver/amp setup" thread and get the same thing .

. | I dunno there seems to be a lot of arguments going on on TB OT lately but maybe that's just me. Given that the situation was just the officers and that one individual there would have been no reason to pull out anything more dangerous than a toothpick. However there was a train station full of people, and so it goes back and forth... IMO they should have cleared out the station immediately instead of leaving a train full of people there to create another possible hazard. People are gonna riot cause they're dumb and they love violence eventually they'll get over themselves and find another police officer to attack for whatever reason. And so goes the cycle.

Alot has happened since Rodney King . Wow...As far as LA, read the article. Yes it happened in Oakland, but the trial was taken to LA (for some reason). Tops he'll get maybe 4 yrs and hes good to go. Quote:

They were already off the train and you can see there was NO ppl traffic. I can understand a hem down of the billy club before doing more. The dude was layed out with two cops on him (and he was rather small). Thats why it doesnt make sense. It amazes me that ppl just think others get mad and go crazy for no reason. Evidently you havent kept up with the many police homicides that have happened there. Google is your friend . This has happened atleast five times, and not all the victims were fighting or even committing crimes. Guess we should stick with bashing NFL players, LeBron, or cars. Screw real issues. It never matters til it affects you I guess.

Like i said I(read me, myself and I) saw no reason to pull anything out more dangerous that a toothpick. There were several other police officers there on top of the guy.Supposedly the guy reached into his pocket, thinking the suspect was going to draw a firearm the officer confused his tazer with his sidearm, which is possible as he was proably trained for a long time to draw his sidearm, which is on his right side, and pulling a weapon from your left if your right handed is awkward. I see more officers respond to hostile situations with their firearm drawn rather than a taser. Do I beleive the " i got frustrated and shot the guy argument" hell no. Do I beleive the officer acted with negligence that caused the fatal injury, yes. Do I think it was murder, no way. Honestly I dont keep up on police "homicides" I have better ways to spend my time.
