LACK OF AMP/CAB SELECTION at GC

Sign in to disble this ad
Just went amp/cab shopping for my church this week.

I noticed a very small corner of GC relegated to Bass Amps/Cabs.
They carry some Ampegs, GK's, and MarkBass...

They are totally limited on a variety of the models for the brand names they DO carry.

They didn't have any: SWR, Hartke, Aguilar, Epifany, Fender.
No FENDER??? Come on!

Am I stuck on shopping online for what I want in the future? The salesguy (although nice) did say that they don't get a lot of bass players coming in to buy stuff. I say they should carry at least 2 of each model in stock to satisfy customer needs.

Maybe I'm naive, but perhaps we really SHOULD have a DrumCenter, a BassCenter, and a KeyboardCenter to cater to everyone's needs more adequately...

What say you?

I don't know anything about GC and cabs. What I do know, though, is that this thread should be moved to the amps section.

There used to be The Bass Center in LA and London many years ago. I did find this one
http://www.basscentre.com.au/ I know, Austrailia
Over here on the east coast we have Bass Central in Fla (never took the trip though)

One would think you could find a better place to look for bass gear in SoCal. GC carries gear that appeals to their core market. Typically, this does not include boutique bass gear, especially cabs since they take up so much real estate.

Yeah, I was in GC just yesterday, it's a waste of time every time I go in there. Total waste. They never have ANYTHING remotely decent. I just don't want MarkBass, sorry. Or Ampeg.

And DEFINITELY NOT "Acoustic". Pass, pass and PASS.

There is a pretty big Bass-only (iirc) store in Connecticut I was meanin to check out...

Sam Ash, when I was in Phx, AZ, they had hartke and maybe a couple other brands to try out. Look no further than the TB Classfieds
