Mostly because they're not the real UT anyhow

That's what TU gets for hiring that dirtbag.

There's only ONE UT and it ain't in Tennessee.

Bah! Good ridance of a weasle coach. Your program will be better off without him in the long run.

All the more reason players should get a stipend. Everybody else in college gets paid upfront, why not the players? My bigger question is what has Lane Kiffin ever actually done? NFL and college combined, I don't think he has won 20 games.

I hope he does the same for USC that he did for the Raiders.

I'm not a fan at all, but he was the OC of USC in 05-06.

They were 23-3.

UTenn is better off without the lying, bad mouth Lane Kiffin. I'm a huge Vols fan...grew up that way because my dad graduated from UT and then I married a lovely Tennessee Vols girl. I was confused when UT hired Kiffin and now I'm not so sad he has left. Good Riddance you dirt bag Lane Kiffin.

So...who is up for UT heavily pursuing Steve Spurrier?!!! I am!

Tennessee DID catch a break - Kiffin left.

Not so hasty, there was a UT in Knoxville before the Battle at the Alamo and prior to Texas being a state.

Agreed! I'm a Gators fan, so I'm certainly biased--but this guy is just sleazy. Al Davis might be insane at this point in his life, but when someone calls you a liar over and over in a press conference announcing your firing, I'm thinking there may be something to that.

Then there was his behavior as UT coach. To me, trash-talking when you haven't accomplished squat yet isn't too smart. Neither is not knowing the rules of recruiting before you accuse a fellow coach of cheating. Now there's the "hostess" issue.

And the latest: It's been reported that his recruiting coordinator, Ed Orgeron (now working for him at USC), told recruits who enrolled early to skip class today so they can transfer to USC without having to sit out a year. I don't think the NCAA's going to be too happy about that.

I think USC's making a mistake.

USC's is going to be under so much investigation in the next year or two anyways, I guess they figure why not?

Recent experience at Notre Dame has shown that a great offense coordinator is not always a great head coach. Kiffin may be a great head coach, but he has not shown it yet.

That's why some are coordinators and some are head coaches.

TN and TX will always have a kinship -but when it comes to football, we'll take our shots when the opportunity arises -all in good fun, of course.

I grew up here in TX but lived in TN for quite a while. I still have family there.

I've used the "there's only one UT and it ain't in ______ " phrase many times.

I would change Austin and Knoxville depending on who was winning at the time.....
