Las Vegas: Stick A Fork In It Already

I was in Caesars a couple of days ago and the quality of the place has gone down since I was there only 2 years ago. I have been in gas station bathrooms that were cleaner than what their rest rooms.

MGM Grand was over run by Jersey Shore rejects and drunk parents looking for a place to dump their kids so they could drink in peace.

When you tell people that you are not interested in a time share or a half price show, one would think that would be the end of it. Not in Las Vegas. If there is nobody around, they will just keep blocking your way until they spot someone else.

Even though I have never been here when the mob ran the city, I miss those days

Caesar's has been going downhill for a while. When I was there 2 years ago I thought it was kinda cheesy. If you went during the weekend then there was your problem. Me and my buds have been there during the week (heck yeah vacation!) and it's much, MUCH better.

Paris, The Bellagio, Venetian, and Wynn were all awesome and from what I've gathered have kept it classy since my last visit and I was definitely impressed by those when I was there. I honestly really wanna go back to Vegas, it truly kicks all kinds of butt.

Vegas died when all the corporate megahotels came to town. I liked it a lot better when the Sands, Aladdin, Frontier and Stardust were around.

I've been to Vegas three times and each time I left feeling like that town was the most depressing place on the planet. I don't plan on ever going back there unless it's to see a show.

The only thing worse than Las Vegas itself is the quality of the people there. I lived there for a while about 40 years ago and it was a great place! It is now the epitome of bad taste. We call it the land of wretched excess. I absolutely hate that I have to go there periodically for meeting and trade shows. I spend my free time with friends in West Vegas, where there is no sign of The Strip and its denizens

Tunica is way closer if I want to gamble... I've never been to Vegas, but I'd like to go just once to say I've been.

I lived there for about 4 years, and let me say, the first chance I got to leave, I was gone. Just never did feel comfortable in that town. Had some good friends there that I hated to leave, but couldn't stand that town

I have to admit that it is funny seeing Criss Angel hang all over Ron Jeremy while Ron is trying to talk to some women. Driving past a Cannery and seeing that Vince Neil will be playing there soon is also a sign of the times.

The biggest red flag that Vegas is going down the tubes is...

I've been one time, just a few months ago. I stayed at the Four Seasons, which was wonderful. I did step outside the comforts of the FS to check out Mandalay Bay. I came across the same assortment of drunks, skanks, loud mouth jerks, and other undesirable characters. I won't be going back.

Youre doing it wrong. I was in Vegas a few months ago and had a blast.
Its a great place to get effed up and walk down the strip with a giant bottle of booze and talk to everyone like you own the place.

Here is a hint to the Vegas "untrained"....

Everything that is "Trendy" and "IN" in California and New York is what you will find in Vegas AMPLIFIED by 100X.

People today are so superfiscial and pretentious, they get to Vegas, and think they are "Whales" and should be able to "party like a rockstar", and that "what happens in Vegas...stays in Vegas"

Welcome to Trendy society that has no clue about the reality of who they "Aren't"...

As stated earlier, Vegas has become a completely commercial, over the top, paradise for the Pretentious and Trendy moron class of solciety. The Strip is a cool place to visit, look at, and explore, but not the place to "be" in Vegas anymore. If you want to have fun in Vegas, and gamble too, go downtown and do the Fremont St. thing, or go to the outskirts like Sams Town, Palace Station, South Pointe, Rio etc. There are a lot of great places off the strip to get the full on Vegas experience without the Tourist HELL that is the Strip. Yeah, Mandalay, Paris, New York2, Venetian, Wynn, Belagio are gorgeous places, but they are still in the heart of Idiot Central.

There is plenty of other things to do in Vegas besides getting drunk, gambling all your money away, and paying $100+ to go see $15 worth of show. Vegas has everything you would want to find at any resort destination, you just have to know what you want to do before you get there so you don't get sucked into the "Strip Sense" mentality. There is a lot to do in that area. take the time to look, and check out the coupon offerings, and the info centers, you might be surprised how much fun you can have in Vegas, and Gamble some too.

I go to Vegas every Winter, usually instead of NAMM....anything to avoid California...LMAO

+1.

I am however getting great enjoyment out of the current plight of the CityCenter. Apparently they started building some really expensive tower, got halfway done and now they can't finish it (the Tower of Babel comes to mind), and they want to implode it but the neighboring businesses don't want them to do it cause they're afraid the implosion will damage their own facilities.

It cracks me up when people / companies with way too much money make really stupid decisions. That happens in Vegas a lot it seems.

Doing it right. The Venetian's (read: Tao's) pool parties are insane.

I used to go there once or twice a year, and always had some of the best times of my life. In fact, I can't remember any bad Vegas trips.
