Good luck. I had it done several years ago - it's been awesome.

Almost two years ago, I had PRK (on the surface rather than the more common 'flap' lasik surgery) and it has been fantastic!! I wasn't a good candidate for the 'flap' surgery, but know several people who have had it done and they are WAY satisfied... Quicker healing time as well...

If you have anything like the experience that I and others that I know have had, you will be stoked!

Thanks guys!! You have all helped my head a little bit! Obviously I can't sleep. Yeah, I'm getting the "flap" lasik surgery here in about 2 hours. My wife got it last year and LOVES it, so I sure hope I do too! I'm supposed to come back home and sleep for 3 hours. About the time I wake up, my Fuzzrocious Munch the Muffin should be here, so that will be something to LOOK forward too! I can't wait!

Good Luck & a review

FWIW I had Lasik a year ago January. I was nearsighted. W/O specs, I could see no further than 8 inches in front of my face. I have always had lousy vision.

It was great for changing strings & doing tech work, but I HATED the limitations.

Within minutes after LASIK, I could see people's expressions across a room. The next morning I looked out my bedroom window and could count the bricks on houses 60-70 feet away.

The drawbacks: while I can clearly see jet-liner contrails at cruising altitude, I now need a granny maginfying glass to do the tech work, read fine print & lousy faxes...BUT: I went to being able to see the world, minus the 4-6 inches I sometimes need a magnifyer for. I did go the menu-vision route which is advisable.

A worthwhile trade-off...for me.

I will be getting it at some point in the future. Have fun with it, I have never heard of anyone not liking it.
