I am glad to see Fishburne getting some action, but he has a humongous vacuum to fill. I think he'll be awesome, but the show will never be the same, and that could be good, bad or a mix.
One thing's for certain: the future of the show is going to be interesting. |

I think Petersen's character just made that show, I think of all the characters he was probably the coolest.
I think Fishbourne will bring some interesting things to the table, hopefully he wont be as weird as the other new character, that really annoying blond chick.

He's been on the show for nearly 9 years. Even Tim Allen didn't last that long on Home Improvement. |

Petersen's character was brilliantly done....not too 'over the top', quirky sense of humor, and pretty even-keel.
Fishburne always seems to play the 'take no bull', hard a$$.
Brass already fills that spot in a way.
We don't need another Horacio!

It does look like they'll throw more than a bit of humor into his character's personality.
His character doesn't look like the harda$$ type, frankly, though I do understand your concern regarding some of his prior roles.
I suppose we'll (begin to) find out as of December 11th. |

Fishburne isn't exactly going to be "filling shoes" yet, he's supposed to be coming on as an entry level agent and Catherine (Marg Helenberger) is going to head the posse.
Whoever played the creepy guy (DJ Kay) last night was brilliant, but the rest of the cast's acting was a little under-par. Grissom's announcement of leaving, the crew's reaction, nothing was quite as dramatic as it should have been.
My $0.02.

The way the killed him, that slow choking on his own blood was very disturbing. I only watched the show for him and Nicks acting.. What a crapper.
Anyone ever notice Petersons character also had two bass names?
-Warrick Brown. Just different spelling.
