I haven't been on a plane in ten years, and I've never been any further west than Texas.

As of tomorrow, these two statements will be rendered untrue. Words fail me at how momentous an occasion this is.

Now that I've gotten that out, I'm playing the Jazz Festival in Telluride this weekend with my band, the Young Razzcals. I've been with them since November of last year (and never had prior jazz experience before that), and my group leader has decided that I have progressed well and far enough that I'm ready to play the big stage with them.

Anyone who lives out in that area, send me a PM!

Looking forward to coming back with plenty of pictures, and rumor has it that a CD will come of this.

Peace,

-Sean

Damn. I would have loved to have gone. But I'm super busy this weekend. Have fun dude! And don't drink too much, a flatlander like you will get a buzz with very little to drink.

I was looking for a response from you, I just didn't expect it so soon.

Yeah, it's gonna be a blast. I've seen pictures from friends who live out there, it's simply breathtaking. Somehow I figured it'd be a bit of a haul for you, it's over 6 hours from Colorado Springs, isn't it?

Haha, I'm straightedge man. But thanks for the heads up in case something goes awry....uh, I mean...........

Congrats on the gig.

Some good bands at that show. I dig Benvento/Russo Duo and Karl Denson's Tiny Universe.

Yeah I think it's about 6 something hours. I would also take the roads through the mountains since they are prettier.

But it should be really green up there this time of year. We have been getting (at least on the front range) a bit of rain these past few weeks, and everything is very green and blooming. You should expect some afternoon rain storms this time of year. Bit cold in the afternoon, but not too chilly. Take some pictures and post em here!

ORF is an easy airport to navigate (I'm a VA. Beach native), lines are short. None the less I'd show up early. Provided the weather cooperates you should have an easy flight.

I say this because My wife made a trip out there at the tail end of hurricane season. On the way out; we got stranded in DC and my dad had to drive up and get us...ruining the surprise. That was T.S. Hannah's fault and it didn't even really reek that much havoc. On the way home we got caught in the remnants of Ike and got stuck in Chicago overnight.

Enough about me....have fun dude.

Most definitely. I'm trying to sort out claims with taking my BONGO on board versus checking it at the moment. Dear Lord I hope I don't have to check it.

I'm taking off from Norfolk International, should be fine. I'm told security there is much more sensible/lenient than most.

I'm showing up well over an hour in advance of the flight. Leaves at 0655 EDT, I'm showing up at 0530 at the latest.

Yikes. That sounds like it was fun.

Thanks man, I plan to have the time of my life.

Y'all have full permission to internet-slap me if I'm answering any posts by 2300 (EDT) tonight.

-Sean
