So I've spent some time playing the demo, and I'm quite impressed. It's really, really fast paced, and if you're too slow, you'll be swarmed by the horde in a fashion very similar to 28 Days Later. It really stresses teamwork and the idea that you absolutely must keep moving at all times, even if it means leaving someone behind. Very cool, and genuinely scary to boot.

Overall, I'd say it's the best zombie apocalypse simulator to date. A lot of these tactics in the game can very easily be translated to the real life zombie holocaust, so I suggest you all pick up a copy (or download the demo before it expires) and start honing your zombie defense skills.

Oh, and turn your flashlight off whenever you hear a witch around the corner. You don't want to disturb them.

I liked the demo, but I don't think I'll be buying it.

I did, however, purchase Call of Duty 5 today.

I can't manage to play a good game for the life of me. In all my attempts I have had only ONE playable game... The rest were far, far too laggy to even tell what was happening, and everyone eventually quit. I figure I should cancel my pre-order in that case... but I just had such high hopes for the game... Maybe it would be better after release with more dedicated servers...??

ya know, that's pretty much what it looks like to me: a horror movie version of Half-Life 2. No qualms here, that was the best game I've ever played!

That's extremely achievable. Pick up Steam and then download Zombie Panic!. I've been playing it for like 3 months on my roommate's computer, it's amazing. It's a HL Source mod -- you start as one of several humans while 1-3 players (depending on how full the server is) spawn as zombies while 1 is the carrier, who can infect people. When you die you spawn as a zombie.

There are objective maps and survival maps. Weapons include multiple shotguns and rifles, numerous pistols and melee weapons. Some servers have medics and other upgrades.

However, Left 4 Dead looks like it blows Zombie Panic! out of the water. Definitely excited for this one...NEED XBOX!

The Zombie Mod CSS games are good fun too!

Im downloading the left 4 dead demo right now, one of my mates has played the demo alot and loves it, so might as well see what im missing out on!

Ive been spending a great deal of time playing the demo as well, and I cant wait for the full game. I just wish nubs would stop shooting boomers at close range, scaring the witch on purpose, setting the alarm to the red car in the street off, and save their Molotov for the tanks.

Hopefully the full game will yield some good players.

I'm using wireless and was downloading it at 135kbps. Took me a few hours.

Single player was a joke, even on expert. I died once, because of a witch.

Multiplayer was the land of team kills. I had 3 pipe bombs thrown at me.

Wait until some nub throws a Molotov at you because there's a hunter on you or a tank around you. Its funny.

If anyone is having a problem with the game, let me give you a tip. Don't use the uzi. Its terrible. Use the shotgun, until you get the weapons upgrade. Then get the M16 to do headshots.

I just got back from playing. One of my team mates torched our friend.

PS I had a pipe bomb thrown at me because a smoker had me and it was my team mates great idea to use that to save me. Even though they wither and die to pistol fire.

I preodered my copy a few days ago so it should be here by thursday. Can't wait to get it online, I've been looking forward to it for so long I decided not to bother with downloading the demo. I want it all!

I prefer the shotguns all the way through. The auto shotgun is kickass. I just tried the sniper rifle last round and it was absolutely horrible unless your team mates actually wait with you while you pick them all off.

Also when you come to a big fire in the subway on the right walk along the edge of the fire on the right hand side of it and there is a tunnel leading all the way to the other end of the subway. Saves a little time or gives you a give advantage point if you get slimed by a boomer because the tunnel is narrow. This game is full of route possibilities. Another one I like to use is instead of going through the open street where all the zombies are, I cut through the vacant lot by the 18 wheeler and you end up coming out on the other end of the zombies giving you a better view of all of them, sometimeseven letting you skip them depending on where they spawned. Also off of the roof in the beginning there are 3 routes you can take, one is down the stairs, one is down the skylight behind where you start and the other is jumping off of the roof behind where you started onto a grey box then onto a dumpster and into the street.

Less then a day and I cant wait.
