The holy grail; completely synonymous with childhood desire. I can't think of any single thing I wanted more than this as a kid. I cut pictures of this set out of every toy and Lego catalogue that came my way, and plastered the wall of my playroom with them.
I had quite a few Legos, but they were all accumulated from very small sets over the years, as we were very, very poor. I was well aware of our financial situation and knew it was only wishful thinking, but still, wish for it I did. Eventually it was discontinued and began to disappear from the magazines and catalogues. Almost a year had passed since I had come to terms with the impossibility of owning one, when Christmas day arrived and I found it waiting for me under the tree. My dad had found the set at Goodwill for $30. The box had obviously been opened, but the inner bags had not, and though a few key pieces in the display window were missing, after a quick call to Lego, replacements were sent to me free of charge. Best Christmas I can remember...

Legos are the single greatest toy EVER created. Yup, I said it, best ever.
Legos are the most significant influence on me to pursue a path an education in mechanical engineering.

Today my girlfriend and I went into her parent's attic (New Years Day activity) to see all her and her brother's old toys. She had a bunch of barbies, and her brothers had some old GI Joes and Sega Genesis games.
I also found a good chunka Lego stuff there. Apparently they had some stuff from the early 80's all the way up to the Star Wars stuff at the end of the 90's.
I also got some of my own memories at my parent's house today

I could easily spend a whole day building stuff with Legos. The sets I had as kid (Castle, Space, Expert car/engine stuff) I kept tucked away in a box and kept with me in hopes of handing them down to one of my own kids. Last September, I gave them all to my 8-year-old daughter who has proven to be a growing Legomaniac. We have a great time building projects together. |

How often has anyone ended up hanging out naked, with a girl, playing with Legos?
It was truly a first for me.

It was truly a first for me. | Yeah, absolutely. You're the only person here who could make Lego time sexy...
...I can't believe I just wrote that...
...anyway, I got a few old sets from my youth and early teens in the mail as part of my gift certificate. I'm gonna build some creative space stuff - likely as a model for my next game's main ship.
