Next week, my job takes me to Lexington. I have never been to Kentucky, so this should be fun. First task is to find the guy who knocked out Tebow and clothesline him!

I'm not sure what Lexington is known for, besides horses. I hope to find something fun to do in the evening.

This wouldn't fall into the category of "fun", but there's a pretty impressive-looking castle just West of the airport about a mile or two.

It's an actual castle with spires and all (though no moat!). I've heard a couple different stories about it. One was a wealthy Arab built it for his fiance'. But she ended up not marrying him, so it's sat empty ever since. I don't know if that's factual or not, but I always enjoy glancing up at it when I drive by. Sits up on a rolling hill with nice green grass.

No, not as far as I know. Sometimes, however, there is a "For Sale" sign out front. If it's still on the market, you could always pose as a wealthy potential buyer!

I have spent time in Lexington on business trips. Back in the day IBM had a large training facility there. Nice people.

While my band was on tour we played in Lexington. We stayed at a Motel 6 that night and ended up getting caught in the middle of a drive-by shooting in the parking lot of the hotel.

City was okay, though!

Make sure you pick yourself up some Ale 8 and swing by a Rally's for some cheap burgers and loaded fries!

It's about an hour's drive. (About 75 miles, virtually all interstate.)

It may not be even an hours drive. I have been there once to buy my dog from a breeder, and I have driven through it a few times. It seemed about 45 minutes I think. If my memory is correct there was a horse museum there that was pretty cool, but that might have only been a summer thing

+1 to the Ale8 and Rally's.

I saw the castle today, very cool joint. The gate was open, so we drove up to the main door. I was hoping for some knight to come out and ask me what my business was, but there were no signs of life anywhere. So we left.

We drove down to Loretto today and did the tour of the Makers Mark Distillery. Now that is a VERY cool place. I left with a few bottles of bourbon that I was able to dip in the red wax myself.

This is a neat place.

I won't anytime soon. That was the first time I been to a distillery, and it was awesome. It was way out in the middle of nowhere too. It took us almost 90 minutes to get there from downtown Lexington. Way out in the sticks.

Tomorrow I am going to Woodford and Jim Beam.

While in Lexington, you should make an effort to check out some horseracing at Keeneland as the season is on right now... its a beautiful track and a great time of year to watch/wager, although the weather has been a little on the rainy side lately!

And you are only a short distance from Cincinnati... you should go up and check out the Bengals museum

We went to Keeneland. That was a cool place. We have a horse track near Seattle, but I've never been to that one.

I did stop at the Bengals museum. It's a porta-potty at a rest area just outside Cincy. I left a present for the team.
