Librarian bass players

Sign in to disble this ad
Well I recently got my MLS, and am currently working at two different libraries. First day job or any job ever! Quit all my sub gigs and only working wih my steady band. Anyway...
Are there any librarians out there? I know a couple of librarians who play, not sure if they're here or not.
Some students at one of the schools I work at have seen me play, and think I'm the "cool librarian"
So, any cool librarians here?

Andy

We had one that started out cool, but he eventually turned into a grumpy old opinionated curmudgeon. Bannage quickly followed, if I 'member correctly...

You played music at a library? Isn't it the main goal of those places to be quiet?

We have lots of culture in SA... music is a big part.. it was part of a summer reading program for kids.. we made coin and put lots of smiles on kids and their parents. i was on my best behavior and didn't go hungover from the night before, too... well at least on most of the gigs.

I work circulation at D'Angelo Law Library at the University of Chicago. I also play bass. Both are pretty ok, sometimes better.

Got an MLS from Maryland, 1990. What else can you do with a libreral arts degree?

Worked at the Teamsters' Union HQ Library on Capitol Hill my last semester - perfect student job. I have a baseball cap that says "James R. Hoffa Scholarship Fund" - in my case, it was very true indeed.

Now I 'm a records manager - pays more than library work, but you get to be bored more often.

My friend works at a library (not a librarian by technical standards) and he's a ****ing moron that plays drums, bass, and guitar. OH, and he works at a library and manages to come up with questions like if there's sugar in ice cream.

SoulGeezer is a librarian, but he got banned because he would pretend he was a knowitall about things he knew nothing about. Funny character though.
