Lighting in stores

Sign in to disble this ad
It seems like everytime I go into a store like wal mart to take a leak and look in the mirror you look worse then say at home or somewhere else , maybe i am just that ugly but i have asked friends all the time , "dont you look fugly in wal marts mirrors?" and all have said that they did more so then like in your home bathroom. I know its the lighting but my question is do they do this on purpose to try and sell things to you?

conspiracy threads, this is my first

Of course. It's subliminal lighting.

I don't shop at Wal Mart and therefore a visit to one of their restrooms is right out of the question for me..........I do however know Lighting ( My day job is at Seattle Lighting) and I can say without even setting foot in a Walmart that they use the cheapest fluorescent tubes with a poor Color Rendering Index, located incorrectly. So yeah, you're not going to look good - My question would be: What could you possibly purchase at Wal Mart that could help you look better?

That's one of the main reasons I shop at Target instead of Walmart. Seriously. I just can't stand fluorescent lights at all.

There is a pretty good chance. When you walk into a store like Walmart just about everything in the store is purposefully designed to get to you do one thing, spend money.

I'd say either A. the lighting is like that in order to get you to buy things, or B. they found peoples bathroom experience has a minimal effect on what they buy, and instead went with the cheapest possible option. Probably a combination of the two actually.

I thought this thread was about lightning in stores. Significantly less cool than I expected.

Perhaps they do, but to my eyes they at least give off a natural hue that's warm and inviting.

A brown paper bag would help me look better. I'm sure Walmart has those.

Maybe WalMart makes their stores seem desolate so you'll think that you're saving money even when you're not. Also, maybe there are so many security cameras that they suck the light out of the store.
