I really, really, REALLY like my new job.

I've recently reinvented myself as an ambulance driver for a private company. It's way cooler than selling furniture on credit, and the hours are great. Not to mention, the chicks LOVE a tattoo'd up man in uniform.

Today I had the privilege of running 911 assistance for the city of Gary Indiana.

We had 2 calls, one minor, and one major. Both were HUGE adrenaline rushes. Imagine riding a screaming roller coaster through the ghetto, with a possible OD getting tubed in the back seat...I'm still buzzing over it.

How do I blow off all this extra steam?

Nice. I've been an EMT for 15 years. Last night we pulled a suicide from the water. He OD'd and jumped the pier. My buddy tossed a paddleboard off the pier and jumped. He retrieved the body and began CPR in the water. Because he was oozing foam from the mouth he got a few mouthfuls of dead guy foam. He promptly threw up. Twice. Medics met him on the shore.

Yep. Amazing job. I kinda miss my paramedic days.

If you ever really, really want to learn how to cuss correctly, spend about ten minutes in the front of an ambulance running Alpha through heavy traffic.

The questing isn't really what do you do to blow off steam because eventually, almost all of it becomes routine.

The question is, when THAT stuff becomes routine, what are you going to do for excitement?
