I'm thinking about getting an inner bottom lip tattoo. Anyone here have one?

I must admit that I don't think these types of tattoos are a good idea.

The tissue is so spongy in the lip that they are pretty quickly reduced to nothing more than illegible blobs. I've seen a few people with them, and a few years after getting them, they tend to look like they have scurvy!

That and, unlike most tattoos, these just scream gang rape in the prison shower.

Lip tattoo as in NSFW lips or just regular lip? Why would anyone want a tatoo on their lip? Or the NSFW-lip at that?

Why would anyone want a body mod that requires face contortions and a mirror to be able to see it?

Don't get me wrong, I like tasteful body mods, but this...

Whoa there Chuck. Did you take a blow to the head recently? The whole inner lip tattoo thing is one of the dumbest ideas I have heard in a while. It will be very painful. No one will be able to see it. It will look stupid. And you're going to spend perfectly good money on that? This is coming from a guy with a tattoo.

Of course all of this is IMO/YMMV. It's your body and your dough so do what makes you happy.

I think you're all missing the point of these tattoos... They're just jokes most of the time, and they're not really supposed to be a lifelong investment in something, the way a full sleeve is. Plus, they're always pretty small, so they're fairly cheap.

I thought the moustache was hilarious.

Thing is with the 'tach (and the other one), they are both fresh.

Given a year, I bet they are just blobs now.

(should have mentioned in original reply, I have tattoos aswell, so it isnt like im against the entire thing).

A friend of mine is a pro photographer and is 100% Canon. She traded her photography services for the Canon logo tattooed inside her bottom lip. Interesting but I don't get it.

I thought about doing it once. Got too many negative replies from females.

Maybe it was my choice of wording?

My tattoo artist had one. She said it was a bitch to get, took a long time to heal, and since she kept tounging it while it was healing, it was almost completely faded after about 6 months. You can barely make it out now, just looks like a faint blob.

She was eighteen at the time and still lived with her parents. Her parents threatened to throw her out of the house if she came home with a tattoo.

They never found out about it.

If it's just for you, then just pretend it's there.
