My dad was quite a bit worse when I was growing up.

Really? I'm sorry. My parents have always been supportive of the music I listen to and play. I guess they know that the more influence of different music you have, the better off you are. Last night i was doing the dishes, talking to mom, and listening to sleep. When i was done I asked her what she thought of it. She said she wouldn't turn it off, but she probably wouldn't listen to it as a fravorite. I guess they trust me to make my own decisions.
Allthough my mom did sing t------ and beer word for word when it came on the radio. And dad stole my Zappa collection for his ipod. I think he want's metallica next!

Don't get me wrong, my dad's a good man, he just grew up in an army family with a dad who abused him and dealt with a lot of discrimination because he was a japanese kid growing up in the South in the 50's, so he's very structured like the military and very bitter as well. He tried his best to raise me as well as he could, he just messed up a lot because his own issues got in the way. Ironically enough, he pulled a complete 180 and became one of my closest friends after I moved out. He still plays poker with me and my friends every Friday night.
