Local Couple Married in Fast Food Restaurant

A couple, from where I grew up, recently married. Nothing too unusual except for the fact it happened in a White Castle.

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- White Castle is not necessarily a place you would expect to see a wedding.

But Sunday, two couples tied the knot at the White Castle on Nolensville Pike. They are winners of wedding contests sponsored by two Nashville radio stations.

Both weddings at the White Castle had fairy-tale touches, including flowers, candlelight, and other decor.

After the weddings, guests were treated like royalty with White Castle's Silver Tray Service. It includes White Castle hamburgers and other favorites.

NASHVILLE, March 1 (UPI) -- Two Tennessee couples held their weddings at a White Castle restaurant after entering an annual contest held by the fast-food chain.

Jennifer Walker and Noble Holden of Nashville were married Sunday morning at the Nolensville Pike White Castle, which was temporary converted into a wedding chapel and reception hall, and Todd Edison and Jaimee Baker of Dickson County held their nuptials at the eatery in the afternoon, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported Monday.

The couples were chosen from hundreds of essay submissions, White Castle said.

"We entered the contest but didn't think we'd win," Edison said. "It's like the lottery. You play knowing the odds are against you, but you hope to win in the back of your head. This worked for us. We're not traditional. We're off the path."

Walker and Holden said White Castle was an important destination when they first started dating and Walker's mother worked at the eatery before she was born.

I remember once Hamish and Andy (radio comedy thing) did a thing where they found a couple who were getting married, and got them to hold their wedding in the supermarket.

I seem to remember a lot of bad puns involving aisles.

guy I went to school with got married in the local McDonalds in our very small hometown probably 25 years ago. They even had the dinner there. I thought it was just sad.
