Local High School Threatened

Sign in to disble this ad
So I just found out a local high school (my high school actually) has some kind of threat against it for tomorrow. Some anonymous person sent the director of the school board an e-mail that implied a threat to the public safety of the school on Monday.

The school is going to be open tomorrow, classes will be running as usual, except we'll have some police officers around.

What would you do? Go to school, or stay home?

I'm going to school, I got a test to write tomorrow. I think it's all BS anyways, my town's fairly small and doesn't have a high crime rate.

An E-Mail seems like a really bad way to send a threatening message.

I concur, when sending a threanting message one should always use the "note wrapped aroud a brick" technique.

Doesn't this happen every year around 4/20? It's just wannabe lowlifes who are trying to emulate their idols: the Columbine shooters. A school a couple towns over from me received a threat listing the names of students who were to be shot last Friday. Of course nothing happened.

My school had a shooting threat one day last year. We ended up getting a thursday off, but on friday I said "too bad we dont get today off aswell, I was really gunning for that long weekend"

Apparantly it was far too soon.

Hahahahahhahaha I REALLY doubt that stoners idolize the Columbine shooters.

Or the fish wrapped in the bullet proof vest technique.

I remember walking to school one day and the whole school was sitting out at the stadium because there was a bomb threat. After sitting outside in the cold for an hour or so they sent us home.

We used to get bomb threats once every few months. They'd have everyone line up their backpacks in the halls, and then go stand in the parking lot while the police searched the building with dogs. I don't think they ever found any bombs, but they did find and confiscate a lot of drugs. My house was within walking distance, so I'd walk home. The teachers and/or police would often tell me I couldn't do that, truancy and what not. I told them my folks would be calling me in within 24 hours. If they had any problem with that, they should change their code of conduct.

You sound just like me. I always make those kinda jokes.

Our school had a bombing threat last year, like many highschools do. It was during exams and it was rather hot out, as we were walking outside to the field while police searched the building, I said " jeez, Its a bombing 30degrees out today" All the teachers looked at me while my friends and I laughed and giggled.

My school has occasionally gotten threats, not lately though. People are just dumbasses who threaten others who they have no reason to cause harm to. Thank god I'm done this year so I don't have to put up with wigger/stoner/redneck crap anymore.

My school had a bomb threat last year, they found a note on the floor with a list of teachers to kill. They didn't tell us until after lunch (it was found in the morning), we stayed in school all day and there was one police car there looking around.

Another time a few years ago a girl tried to light a section of our school on fire. She spread lighter fluid all over. There were two different stories. One is that she left the windows closed so the fire died out right away and the second is that she was choosing between a lighter and matches and was caught before she did anything. We had our exams as scheduled after that.

Just today, some 3 kids in grade 9 got expelled because they called a pizza, an escort and the fire department to our vice-principal's house. They were caught because the call was made from the house of one of the kids.

And we're supposed to be a smart school.

I do that ALL THE TIME!!!!!
When we get threatened, we get evacuated either to the (attached!) fieldhouse or like a quarter mile up the street.

Bomb threats and whatnot were normal at the school that I went to...

I mean, last year I was driving to school (I had late arrival because I was a senior) and a cop wouldn't let me pull in...so I figured it was a bomb threat or something and would come back in an hour or so. When I came back, all of the students were walking out - apparently some bullets were found in a trash can.

So it was pretty crazy. There were like 30 cops at the school today, with the dogs, and a huge mobile command unit parked out front. They searched everyone's bags and pockets. We were not allowed to leave the class unless being escorted. Classes were empty today, 4-5 kids in each class compared to 25-30. All the kids took off at lunch time, so it was even more empty in the afternoon. They arrested some punk 16 y/o from the school for the threat.
