Poquoson is about 45 minutes-1 hour away from me
That probably has to be the worst way to die on the planet, and at 14 years old after losing both his parents. Mojo to his family and friends...
Just shows how careful you have to be with heavy machinery Quote:
POQUOSON - A 14-year-old Poquoson boy died on Sunday afternoon when he was pulled into a wood chipper while working on storm cleanup.
Frank Anthony Gornick died at the scene on Wagner Road. His name was released to the media this afternoon after police finished notifying his family members, most of whom live outside of the area. A Facebook page in his memory had more than 600 "fans" by noon today.
Gornick was an Honor Roll student and a member of the junior varsity football team at Poquoson High School, according to Principal Bernie Wright.
"He was a young man that was very well-liked and respected in the school and the community," Wright said. "I heard today that many students expressed their feelings of Frank as someone they felt comfortable going to for advice when they had problems. I would like to say he'll be missed by all the students and staff at PHS."
Gornick was working at a location on Wagner Road, using a shovel to load tree limbs and debris into the hopper of a wood chipper. His shovel got caught in the blades of the chipper and pulled him into the hopper, where he died instantly..
Grief counselors are at the high school and middle school in Poquoson today.

any chance of posting the article?
Having worked in heavy industry, I have seen 3 horrific deaths and several bad accidents with injuries.
I advocate safety above all else. |

Fargo, anyone?

As some said above, hopefully it was instant rather than having to suffer through that, but still...brutal..
