Yeah, not a surprise at all...politics is a spectator sport in Lu-zee-ann-uh!

I've heard this excuse being used to many times, but if it's happened to me it was only for a split second. It seems to me that only drunkards and geriatrics would hit the gas instead and stay on it long enough to cause trouble. |

You drive up, order a drink, and they hand it to you in a styrofoam cup with a plastic lid on it. It doesn't count as an open container unless you poke a hole in the lid with your straw... |

Switching back and forth between my car and others used to be a pain. |

It's a much more responsible way to get trashed, methinks. |

As a former native, I do miss quite a bit about the place (technically, I'm not from New Orleans, but from the same nearby city that mike v_s resides in now), but not enough to ever move back permanently. Just can't take the weather, the FLATNESS of it, and the politics is just... ....no matter where you live in the US, no matter how bad you think it is, you have no idea how byzantine it can be.
My old man used to comment that there should be a US consulate in New Orleans. I think he's right.
But the music and the food...sigh...it don't get no better, no where. That I truly miss....
