Logitech Revue/Google TV

Anyone tried it/own it? Is it any good?

I'm considering getting one (I have a corportate logitech discount). Like the idea of having quick internet access, netflix, etc available on my TV.

How does it compare to say, Apple TV?

It's just webTV repackaged and the reviews of it so far are pretty terrible. Why not just spend that couple hundred bucks on the components for a PC tower with wifi and hook it up to your TV?

The revue is basically just a really crappy computer running an unstable CLOSED operating system. I frankly can't imagine anyone but the most computer illiterate spending their money on one.

I dunno about either of those systems but we have a Wii and watch Netflix on that and it's just right.
The internet app works but is very slow.

A Boxee Box? A Mac Mini with XBMC? The Apple TV has a better price and it's more solid (i.e. not repackaged).

The better options are numerous IMO.

The Google TV stuff seems too expensive, and too complicated for most people. Ive used several Neflix devices, and for me, the new AppleTV is hands down the best Netflix interface. I also use the AppleTV to stream all of my iTunes content to the TV.

I do have a wii for netflix and it works just fine. It was just a thought by my research shows the same as comments here: overpriced, and underperforming.

I have built several PCs myself so I think it may be time for me to get a media center case and do a build.

I cross off the options that say "You need a keyboard to watch TV".

I have been watching the development of these units as well with the hopes of doing without cable/satellite when I lose my roommate. I have decided on 3 things that any unit must be able to do with ease for me to consider:

1) Netflix - I have a Wii for this right now and love it.
2) Hulu (Plus) - I am thinking that a Netflix/Hulu Plus would cover just about all TV shows that I watch
3) Watch shows online (especially from the Network sites).

Based on the (limited) reading that I have done on the options out there right now, there is not a device that will do all of these except an actual computer.
