Over here, we had some new nutritonal guidelines of how much red meat is okay to eat - you know, the usual stuff. Most people pretty much ignore this sort of thing nowadays. I guess if you're middle aged and you decide to eat less red meat in order to cut your chance of bowel cancer each year from 1 in a 1000 to 1 in 2000, then that's a personal thing (as is ignoring the advice and basically taking your chances). Anyway, that's not what I posted this for.
What made me smile, while reading an otherwise serious article, was the comparison of six meals for meat content - a cooked full English breakfast, a doner kebab, spaghetti bolognese, a very small steak (5oz), a lamb chop and a Big Mac. Of these, only one had a low enough meat content to meet the new guidelines. I bet you can guess.
I wonder if McD's will start advertising along these lines? "Big Mac - it's a lot less meat than most other meals." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-12577618

It's a small price to pay for maximizing my health. It was boring at first, but once you've forgotten what real life was like, the giant hamster wheel is surprisingly entertaining.

I just tried to make it my sig. Too long, unfortunately.

Once the first heart-attack comes, I'll sue the crap out of all of the above industries, (because it's THEIR fault not mine), then retire to Tahiti and live a healthy lifestyle and enjoy my new found wealth.

Personally, I stick to my bacon, tobacco, and whiskey diet. I almost never get constipated.

| | | I can't even remember the last time I ate a Big Mac. Still, I am glad to see that McDonald's is looking out for my health.

But I think that's because I stopped drinking.
Has ANYONE ever had a donner kebab while sober?

Has ANYONE ever had a donner kebab while sober? | I have no idea what a donner kebab is but two things:
1)Since I had no idea what it is, it's very possible that I ate many drunk
2) in American lore, ANY food with "Donner" in the name, just doesn't sound too appealing...
ie "Let's have a Donner Party kebab yo.."
here, I'll make it easy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donner_Party

Back in 1846, a family started the long journey by wagon from the eastern USA to California to start a new life. Along the way, they got caught in the high mountains of Sierra Nevada and an early snowstorm trapped them. 87 people went into the mountains, only 48 survived. Some of the folks who made it resorted to cannibalism to survive. The name of the family most commonly associated with this tragedy? The Donners.

But I can't count the number of times I wrecked a pair of jeans walking home from the pub trying to eat a kebab and dribbling all the yogurt sauce everywhere.
Mind you, there was this one place in Blackpool that did an incredible donner, with real mint sauce (as in the stuff your mum put on the sunday dinner) all over it. Mmmmm....
