and don't get me wrong - i firmly believe the long-suffering aints fans deserve much better than this from their team. this is the kind of what the heck just happened shennanigans that N.O. made part of their primary game plan for as long as they were a team.

Almost feels like 2004. |

I don't want to place any blame on that, but I think it would have prevented him from adequate game prep. Ryan's defensive play-calling was absolutely brilliant, too. That was probably the best defensive scheming the Saints have seen in years. That, coupled with the 2 HUGE special teams plays from the Browns and the slew of New Orleans injuries were just too large a hill to climb.
John, are you sure you're not just starting this to troll Gard? Hmm... maybe I should report it to the Mods.

What happened here, when did Mangini turn into Steve Spurrier?
I loved the play calling by both OC and DC.
And, as a Browns fan, I'll take them ANY way I can get' em.

Their defense did the vast majority of the work. That said, I'm glad to see Colt McCoy shaping up nicely so far. If you ask me, that's a HUGE slap in the face to Brady Quinn, which makes me happy. He never should have been an NFL QB.

Steelers have won many, many games through solid defense, even super bowls. I just don't get it when people say "Well they didn't really W, only W cos of such and such". |

Who cares how you got it done, as long as you put it in the W column. The Steelers and the Ravens have won plenty of games through their defenses, and the Saints have won plenty of games with a high-powered offense. Either way, it's a win.

i'm mostly just remarking on how, of all teams, the brownies school the aints. long before the cinderella season last year, the saints had an almost genetic predisposition to completely blow it against teams they should consistently beat. it's like its their destiny to fail and it is rearing its ugly head again.
