Well how long has it been? I am going on 9 months now, and its kinda rough. I dont really sleep around for fear of diseases, so i guess i'll play the waiting game for now. |

I didn't drink until I was 17; I also abstained from alcohol from around 99-06. I don't want to even THINK about abstaining from you-know-what.

I've been with the same girl for 4 years and i wholeheartedly respect her decision to wait till marriage. The 2 years prior to that i was touring heavily and i had no girlfriend. I have a stern stance against the whole 'band slut' mentality.
Honestly it IS a bummer... but i know the good outweighs the bad, it allows a strong relationship based on things besides sex. FWIW, her nor I are religious at all, we always get asked that and it tends to shock people when they find out we're celibate w/o some sort of doctrine as an excuse. I think the idea of kids terrifies us... at least for now while we're so busy with school.

Not that I have always thought this way, but I find purposeful abstinence a bit silly. Sex is quite similar to breathing and eating really. Perfectly natural. You can enjoy the pleasures of life without falling into a big greasy pit of hedonism. Life is already short and dumb enough as it is, why put more obstacles in place?
