Like breathing. Weather... Windchimes. Oceans. Birds. Construction sites. Subways. Traffic... |

I have a large singing bowl myself and it is a great way to meditate. Also a good way to learn patience and prepare oneself for hanky panky with ones wife. |

Try to imagine how many instances have occurred in which no one on Earth was playing Stairway or something...
I like that idea a lot better. |

Sorry to ruin your vision though, but I am sure there are quite a few lousy troubadours and cover bands playing STH right now ... all over the planet...

It was composed in 1952 for any instrument (or combination of instruments), and the score instructs the performer not to play the instrument during the entire duration of the piece. Although commonly perceived as "four minutes thirty-three seconds of silence", the piece actually consists of the sounds of the environment that the listeners hear while it is performed. Over the years, 4′33″ became Cage's most famous and most controversial composition. ... Cage has stated that 4′33″ is, in his opinion, his most important work. - Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4%E2%80%B233%E2%80%B3
If this is an important piece of music, then my butt is a wind instrument and I can compose a masterpiece by eating a can of pork and beans.
