Looking For Fantasy Football Advice (Keepers)
I'm in a Keeper Fantasy Football League this year, and I'm having a hard time trying to decide which 2 players to keep from last season's roster. Here's the 4 choices I have it narrowed down to:
Our league awards 5 points to QBs for TDs so QBs always end up with the most points. I want to keep Manning for this reason and also I've had him on my team for the past 5 years and he has always done well for me. I just can't decide on the second player to keep, mostly between Green and McCoy as I think Marshall may be more injury-prone at his age. Our league has 8 teams, BTW.
Thanks for your advice!
You only have one QB in an 8 team league? There has to be other QB's out there. I have PM as underperforming at his average draft position and since it's a keeper league, I'd go with potential and youth over Manning. Green is an absolute STUD and McCoy is going to get alot of TD's. That's who I would go with. We are going to be hearing "Dalton to Green" for many years to come.
Of course, you know how your league scores and it's nuances, but this is my instinct.
Go with the young guy. RB's have a limited Shelf life. Manning is old. He may have a few great years left in the tank but will fade eventually. Brandon Marshall? Who knows who will be throwing him the ball next year. Hopefully for the Bears it's someone who knows there are more than one receivers on the field at any given time. Bad news for his fantasy owner though. AJ Green for sure. Marshall or Peyton? Sounds like you want to keep Peyton.
I vote for Green and McCoy. Green is just a beast, and McCoy seems to be the only sure thing in Philly this year. I think Peyton will have a good/great year, but in an 8 team league the drop from manning to even the #10 QB is a lot less than drop off from green or McCoy to the #10 at their respective positions.
Just my point of view.
Great advice so far guys! So how about if I keep Green and McCoy and try to target Manning in the first round of the draft? That way I have studs at each of the key positions (QB, RB, WR).
TBL, I also have Romo and Flacco on my roster but I have no intention of keep either.
Look at his #'s - good every year except last I think.
EDIT: Actually, he had 28 TD's and 4900 yards...the 19 INT's was down. Outside of the elite 3 or 4, he is as good as any.
