Looking for a GPS Nav Receiver

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Navigon 2100 which is a nice little entry level unit, but after using it a couple of times on out of town trips, it's lacking a couple of features, so I'm on the hunt again.

I'm still somewhat new to these units so I have a question. Are there units that allow the direct entry search of a certain POI I'm looking for? Say I'm in an unfamiliar city and I'm looking for a Wal-Mart. Can I do a search on my unit for "Wal-Mart" and will it show the nearest Wal-Mart or do I need the address?

My Garmin will allow you to do generic searches like that. The new ones I believe will let you talk to them.

Man, that's all I need. I'd be in traffic, some guy cuts me off and I yell **** and it directs me to a bordello!
