I'm researching sources of stock photos and possibly videos for use by my church. So far it looks like the leading contender is istockphoto.com. They have a nice selection of photos and videos. They're still pricey though.
Has anyone else done research into this for an organization? I'd love to hear some input and some varied ideas. I was also thinking about buying CD-ROM collections but I think an online service would be more suited to our needs.

It's not that I'm currently looking for any particular pictures. This is for long-term use for photoshop and other multimedia, brochures, fliers, etc...

Shuffle through Getty, Corbis, Punchstock or Veer to get an idea of how much a single royalty-free picture costs.
You could consider buying a couple of CD's though.

They are mainly mentioned when browsing single pictures ("buy the collection" sort of link). They are quite pricey though, so it really is a deal only when most of the pictures on it will be used

|  | Registered User | | Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Eh? | | | If you're looking for professional work, I'm afraid it will be pretty hard to obtain it without the fee associated to it. iStockPhoto is indeed the cheapest you'll find that maintains a good quality and a large catalog.
