Looks like USPS lost my package, any recourse?

I've been waiting for a package to arrive via Media Mail from the USPS. According to the tracking number, it arrived at the unit on June 12th. I guess it means it's at my local post office. As of today the 24th, the system is still showing my package at the local post office, but it hasn't been delivered to me. I have been calling and going in to the post office pretty regularly, but they can't seem to find the package. At this point, it appears to be lost. Is there any recourse, even though the package wasn't insured?

Subscribing because I recently had a package get lost through USPS. The seller (drum store in VA) sent me replacements through Fedex but I'm still curious as to how lost packages are handled.

Since the package wasn't insured .... there isn't any recourse (insurance is for any mishandling of packages, not just damages). The best thing to do is, get a USPS supervisor, explain the situation, and hope they care enough to look for it. I'd imagine that they won't take any responsibility for it either way.

GOOD LUCK!
