Lost my mom today

My mother passed over in her sleep last night at the age of 87. She had been in good health, so this was sort of a surprise, although at 87 it was also not a surprise.
I'm pretty much in shock. We did not have a close relationship, and I like to think that I resolved most of my family-of-origin issues, but still, it's a big deal, and it's hitting me.

I don't know you, but am sorry to hear of your loss. My father passed away in 2003, so I can definitely sympathize. I know that keeping busy helped me assimilate everything gradually. Take Care.

Consult with your local Hospice when the time is right. That time may even be a year from now. I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm really sorry to hear this, man. It is a big deal. I lost my mom (88yrs old) 6 weeks ago, and I still find myself picking up my cell phone to call her. Wierd.

Hang in there and cherish your memories of her. It gets better.

Kesslari, don't be too hard on yourself if you didn't say everything you would have wanted to say to your mother. Life is what it is, and it is rarely just like we would like it to be.

It's going to take a while to really absorb this, there is no way to prepare. For sure give yourself a break if you start feeling like there was more you should have done. There is always more. And you can still do it, but for you.

So very sorry. I know that I will be a wreck when my parents pass. You will be in my thoughts.
