lost my voice

I was a bit sick with a sore throat all yesterday, and then had a gig last night, and now I can barely squeak, let alone carry on a conversation.

Any crazy lost voice remedies out there?

Hot liquids or anything containing a high percentage of alcohol. (Perry will be by anytime to espouse the curative properties of Red Stag)

I just got a scrip for antibiotics yesterday for that very thing. If you got what's goin around, you really do not want!!

Jim Beam in the morning is a very bad sign..... Unless it's purely medicinal!

Get yourself a bottle and go back to bed for the day. (Your wife will be so very happy and proud of you!!!)

Just kidding!

Stay in School!!

Vocal rest to start. Steam is your friend (hot shower, vaporizer, pan of hot water off the stove), Alcohol is not your friend, unless you have come down with a cold or flu, in which case a hot toddy will knock you out and you will sleep. Slippery elm lozenges are good. Gargling salt water is good, too. Mostly, I advocate vocal rest for a day or two. Sorry about the throat. Don't expect immediate recovery, or you risk damage.

I'm not saying a word. I don't have to talk to anyone today, so I'm not going to. I need some tea...

While rehearsing earlier this year for a play I started losing my voice and a friend who's a naturalpathic doctor recommended eating raw garlic 4-5 cloves followed by a tablespoon of honey. It burns going down but it actually worked and I only had to do it once and the play lasted for three weeks.

The way it works is that after you eat 4-5 garlic cloves, no one will come near you, so you get the opportunity to rest your voice.

This is the first time that I can remember losing my voice, and it really sucks. Such as, I went to subway for lunch, which was a horrible idea. Not only do you have to order something with your voice, but then choose a whole lot of other things with your voice.

Also, my calc professor decided we were going to work in groups today. Argh. Voice again.

I did get some tea with honey, which seemed to help.

YOURE DOING IT WRONG! I specifically heard a Subway commercial on the radio that expressed how you don't need your voice to order. You just gotta point. However, they were going on the assumption that people don't like to talk in the morning (which is entirely untrue, or else all the radio stations wouldnt have talk shows in the morning) and not people losing their voice.

Stop typing talking! Write or type when it's time to communicate. No grunting, either!

Rest up, and stick w/ icy, cold drinks . Hall's cherry, or honey lozenges are soothing...

Most ideas can be communicated through grunting and throwing loose stuff from your surroundings.

My voice stays on a tight leash. I haven't lost it yet.
