So I've just finished watching the entire series second time round and it was fantastic, knowing now how it all panned out. Yes, there are plot holes and character flaws, and a good chunk of fans were left unsatisfied by the ending and the still unanswered questions...but taking it for what it is/was, it's a TV Show. Probably one of the finest I've ever seen, but just a TV show nonetheless.
Curious to see if any TB'ers are/were also fans? |

-Mike | Exactly.....that's basically how I feel about these "reality" (scripted) shows. My take on this is pretty straightforward.....these shows are so popular because many love to see;
A) others act the fool
B) others suffer
C) others make mistakes
D) others who are more "worse off" than the viewer
And they come out with more and more of this garbage every new season....now it's a nail saloon "reality" show I saw advertised. And I don't even want to think of how MTV has actually helped corrupt the youth as well as sold out on any music video platform that they were founded upon.
Rent out a big house for a year. Stock it with today's, (pathetic) youth and watch the revenue flow in. Corporate greed at its finest. |

Lost was a sci-fi series that ran for about 5 years or so.

I watched the show for most of the first season, but I soon grew impatient and stopped watching

It became clear that the writers knew all along how it would pan out, thus silencing the making-it-up-as-they-go-along school of thought. |

Curious to see if any TB'ers are/were also fans? | I never saw an episode of Lost, but am a fan of JJ Abrams.I have considered watching LOST on Netflix after I am done with SGU shortly. Is it worth watching 1st go-round now? |

Did they get off the island?

You will not be disappointed. Persevere during the odd inevitable lull, but otherwise, I'd say it is quite possibly the best sci-fi tv series I've seen. Imagine a single 190-plus hour episode of the outer limits or twilight zone.... |

-Mike | Ok, so that sounds like the end of season one! I couldn't sum it up and do it justice if I tried. Your best bet is just go and read the episode synopses on IMDB or something... |

| | | | Lost is definitely one of the best shows of the last decade. I encourage pretty much everyone looking for an escape from reality/ sitcom / food network land to give the first season a try. |

I was working night shift so it was on for a couple of years before I saw it. I immediately bought Season 1 & 2 and watched them one after another. There was no way I could have watched it week to week so I just waited till each successive season was released on DVD then saw episodes one after another.

Kind of up and down after that (felt like the writers were scrambling to keep fresh storylines, but neglected some of the still-unanswered questions and already strong existing storylines). But the show was still was fun and largely well-written and certainly well-acted. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
