Ok, so my apartment neighbors arent blasting obscene music from their car. And really what they are doing isn't something I can report to the manager, or call the cops on.
But the lady under me is like 70, and like other old people gets up at the crack of dawn. Well, its Sat. and Im trying to sleep in, because unlike her, I work all week. So its 7 AM this morning, like other Sat. mornings, and she decides to crank up the loudest, most industrial sounding vacuum cleaner you ever heard. For 30 straight minutes I could get back to sleep. I REALLY wanted to sleep til at least 9!!
Anyhow any thoughts? I know I cant report her, but I think its pretty insensitive and thoughtless on her part. |

I don't see it as insensitive, you know how blue-hairs are...she likes being tidy. Maybe has a rousing game of bridge planned or canasta or something doily-related I dunno, perhaps cleaning and preparing for a granny-porn shoot (ooops) ....maybe you could be a human being and go down and interact in a polite and civil manner and simply ask if she could in the future postpone any vacuuming until 8:30-9:00 as you're tired from a week of work?!?!? You know, like you did here?

| | | | Ha, when I was a kid my mom would turn on a vacuum to get me to go to sleep, the louder the better. To this day loud droning noises are like being hit with a tranquilizer gun to me.

Talk to the lady. | Shes Korean. She speaks no English. My landlord told me, because I know the landlord well, and he told me that the old lady speaks no English. |

TRANSLATE (albeit loosely):
9 전 토요일이 작업에서 피곤해로 진공 오전 때까지 당신은 기다릴 수 주시기 바랍니다. 하라, 네 이웃을 윗층, 감사합니다
She'll get the gist, Google translate- your friend. Besides, if she speaks no English, unless your landlord is an interpreter, how did she arrange a rental agreement?

| | | | Next time she vacuums in the morning, knock on her door and do some universally understood gestures for "I am trying to sleep and your vacuuming is waking me up." |
