Unfortunately, this is not a joke: http://www.metro.co.uk/news/805430-l...udent-tom-reid Quote:
A coroner recorded a verdict of natural causes, saying the straight-As student was killed by sudden arrhythmic death syndrome (SADS), a heart disorder which kills 12 young people a week.
Cardiac experts said the bass could have triggered SADS if Mr Reid had underlying, yet unknown, genetic problems.

| | | Oh God. Just wait, The EPA will be officially declaring bass a danger to public health and welfare. This will allow then to levy a tax on bass players. We will be filling a 1099B and declaring how many bass notes we played each year. We are doomed. |

But not the cause of death. It was whatever the ailment was called. Could have been brought on by anything loud in my opinion like a plane flying over, a stupid harley or loud truck. Could have happened at anytime from something like that.

It's a sad thing, but doesn't it sound like something from a Metalocalypse episode? |

One tone made my body vibrate so hard I felt the mucus coming loose in my windpipe.

That sounds pretty plausible to me. It's not as if the article is saying "BASS KILLS!" It's saying loud noises and general stress could trigger a sort of attack if one has SADS. Much like bright, flashing lights and rapid eye movement could cause a seizure in those with epilepsy.
It's really sad that this happened though. There's almost no way he could've know he had the disorder unless he'd been in a similar circumstance beforehand. It's not as if he was doing anything inherently dangerous either. I'm sure he just wanted to have some fun .

I thought my chest was going to explode and literally had to move seats....I think I was experiencing heart arrhythmia and was pretty freaked out. All sorts of internal bells were going off telling me things were really bad. Good times.

Its often what they use in movies at the cinema to give you that immersion and movment feeling.
In some rare cases there have been deaths due to internal hemorrhages caused by this, im assuming this case is along a similar line?
