Red face LPGA..Speak English or else

Sign in to disble this ad
So if you want to participate in LPGA, The LPGA is trying to push for the players who don't know English to.....LEARN IT

I just don't know how they can make this fly. I am not even sure if this is sending the right signal Certainly does not sound very welcoming if you are from outside the U.S.

Are you buying or selling?

a lot of corporate sponsors on the lpga and a lot of fan contact. have to be able to speak English to communicate with sponsors and English speaking American fans.

I really don't think asking people to speak english in the US is a big deal If Botswana has an LPGA branch, we'll have to learn Botswanan

I think it's appropriate. If you are in a foreign country, you should try to adapt to your new surroundings. That includes learning the language.

It's a private organization, isn't it? if it is, then I don't think there's anything wrong here. Their club, their rules.

If you can't beat them, drive them out some other way. That's what it sounds like to me. If an American plays in the French Open, are they required to learn French?

The french open is one tournament, being in the LPGA would mean many tournaments. There is a difference.

It's a TV show. They said so themselves. "Survivor" also chooses English speaking players.

i can see both sides of the argument so don't bicker. . there are plenty of american players that play on asian tours. i don't see those organizations making american players learn their native language. hehehe. i do believe that foreign lpga players should learn a decent amount of english though.

sure,

they wanna close off the rest of the world, and their untold millions of dollars they could make from them, their prerogative.

maybe the NBA should adopt these rules, and totally alienate all of yao's untold millions of fans (dollars), too.

they gots some real smarts over at that thar LPGA!

+1

its obvious that the LPGA would rather stifle the growth of their sport around the world, for the sake of feeding their jingoism.

+1

cause those asian tours / organizations arent idiots and dont wanna scare off those popular players.

a shame that the LPGA would rather shun these new players, rather than embrace them and their new found fans from around the world who could bolster and boost the sports popularity.

business decision my ass...
