Uh oh, I'm going to be in financial trouble.

13" Macbook Pros with FireWire 800 and SD slots, better battery life, cheaper than the versions they replace.

Did you like how there was no mention of tethering for AT&T? And like you said, later summer support of MMS for them.

I see that Apple announced a Tom Tom GPS App. I wonder how much it will be...probably a lot.

I guess AT&T's infrastructure can't handle the sudden increase of bandwidth? As the sole carrier in the US, that would be a sudden burden on the backbone of AT&T if all the iPhone users suddenly started MMSing each other at once.

Besides, between that delay and no tethering on AT&T, you can be sure it's AT&T, not Apple, that's calling these shots.

We'll be able to upgrade the OS, just won't be able to use all the features for now, IIRC.

Without a doubt it is AT&T's decision, as they are the provider. The price point and specs of the notebook lineup look great.

It's been done. I placed my order for the new 13" MacBook Pro with 2.53 gHz DualCore processor, 4 gig RAM, and 250 gig hard drive. The return of Firewire and SD card slots, along with the new battery life and lower price sealed this deal for me.

Did you get the SSD harddrive? That is the one thing that I making me take a close look at my bank account. 250gig SSD

Hell no... the $1500 price tag was a stretch without the $1000 upgrade. I don't need HDD speed that badly, I need a faster processor. And the battery upgrade, and FW800 made this a sweet deal.

My next MacBook (in two years) will probably have an SSD though.

Congrats on the order. It's going to be one sweet machine. The features and price point are the best they have ever been. I'm holding off upgrading to a SSD on my current MBP. In a year or more, when prices significantly decrease I will do it.

Yeah, I may not have a bass with pickups in it, but I do have a brand new MacBook Pro on the way

And to make matters worse, I just ordered a new iPod Nano last night. I wouldn't be surprised if my credit card called me about the sudden $2,000 from the Apple store.

Did you graduate from college this year? If so, did you use the student discount and get another iPod?

Yes to the discount, and no to the iPod... something was screwy, but it's not a big deal.

I'd imagine it's $50 off the 13 inch model?

I'm really impressed. Glad to hear that the $100 discount applies to all MBPs.

Are Apple really charging an extra $1000 for an SSD. That really takes the biscuit! They really need to fix the prices for upping the specs in their products!
