13" Macbook Pros with FireWire 800 and SD slots, better battery life, cheaper than the versions they replace.

As the sole carrier in the US, that would be a sudden burden on the backbone of AT&T if all the iPhone users suddenly started MMSing each other at once.
Besides, between that delay and no tethering on AT&T, you can be sure it's AT&T, not Apple, that's calling these shots.
We'll be able to upgrade the OS, just won't be able to use all the features for now, IIRC.

I placed my order for the new 13" MacBook Pro with 2.53 gHz DualCore processor, 4 gig RAM, and 250 gig hard drive. The return of Firewire and SD card slots, along with the new battery life and lower price sealed this deal for me.

That is the one thing that I making me take a close look at my bank account. 250gig SSD

lowsound | Hell no... the $1500 price tag was a stretch without the $1000 upgrade. I don't need HDD speed that badly, I need a faster processor. And the battery upgrade, and FW800 made this a sweet deal.
My next MacBook (in two years) will probably have an SSD though.

The features and price point are the best they have ever been. I'm holding off upgrading to a SSD on my current MBP. In a year or more, when prices significantly decrease I will do it. |

And to make matters worse, I just ordered a new iPod Nano last night. I wouldn't be surprised if my credit card called me about the sudden $2,000 from the Apple store.
