Macy's Parade - sucks

I'm trying to watch the parade with my 3 year old daughter and all I can think is how lame this has gotten over the years. I remember 20 years ago when you actually saw floats, balloons and bands. Now all you see are people lip syncing broadway tunes, the latest Disney pop "sensation" and a lot of Al. I miss the good old days of this parade. And how many commercials can you fit in 2 hours? I realize that everything about this is commercial and about money and Black Friday but can we leave profit out of it for just a couple hours.

Rant over.

Neil Patrick Harris added a breath of freash air in the past, but he's gone, too.
I really enjoy hearing the ludicrious statistics on the few balloons they show on the broadcast.

I totally agree with you guys, that parade sucked. These past parades keep getting worse and worse by the year.

It sucked... but I actually thought Jimmy Fallon's performance with "The Roots" was pretty good... even though he has never been funny to me... that medley they did was fairly decent.

Had you been there, you could've walked a bit faster in the same direction...it's like "fast forwarding" the parade. Whatever you do, don't walk at the same speed as the parade. If you do, the parade never changes.

Is there real time streaming of the parade online? Seems like it'd be better then what little I saw when there weren't commercials. And the Pilsbury Doughboy balloon looked like it wasn't done yet. I know there's not much to it, but there wasn't even the coporate logo on his hat. Did they have the Bullwinkle balloon?
