Ahh yes, Joan. Even though I'm a redhead kind of guy, I'm definetly a huge Peggy fan. Actually, it's interesting how both of these two women assert themselves in a male-dominated world in order to succeed when the cards have been stacked against them. Joan uses her sexuality to get ahead, but she doesn't do it in prototypical slutty way. It reminds me of how Madonna used sex to sell records, but she was totally self-conscious and unapologetic about it. Peggy, on the other hand, succeeds on the basis of her intellectual and professional merits. She's very prototypical feminist, but I don't think she indentifies herself as a feminist. It will be interesting to see if the writers take things more in that direction as the series progresses.
