The main difference between Europe and the USA...

Sorry guys, but I've been waiting two years to post this!!

Great contest this year though! So exciting when it goes down to the last pairing like that, particularly after Molinari looked so set to take a point.

We do indeed (although we don't all use the same money), but in the words of David Byrne, "American money is the ugliest money in the world" Personally I just wonder how blind people cope when the (American) notes are all the same size.

We don't: we drive on the left side

Historically EVERYONE drove on the left side, but then the revolutionary Americans switched to be different to the Brits, and then Napoleon marched across Europe and changed the side they drove on so now it's only countries untouched by napoleon and former British territories that drive on the left: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Australia, New Zealand, lots of Pacific island nations...and Japan. Latin American countries used the same side as their Imperial rulers, Sweden changed overnight in 1974 (I think) from the right to the left. Samoa recently switched the other way because of the availability of right-hand-drive cars from Australia and NZ.

But of course as an American you assume the way you do it to be right

If we were to drive on the right hand side of the road, we wouldn't be able to wield a sword between ourselves and passers by as easily...

D'uh . . .

Sorry man, but as an English citizen as well as an American, pounds sterling are real. Euro's, while technically real, aren't what I was raised with, and therefore are wrong.

Just as well we don't use Euros in the UK then

Euros do look like play money, but not as much as Australian money which is plastic coated! Yuk!

Of course, is there any question that Americans drive on the right side of the road?

Yeah, wasn't it close? Really exciting stuff. I thought it was going to go the way of Brookline in 1999 when we went into the singles 10-6 up and lost by either a point or half a point (I forget).

But come on... if it had been 14 all, meaning the USA retained the cup, you wouldn't be moaning about points difference then!

Yeah, and I thought it was played in good spirit throughout, which is really nice to see.

Well done Europe. Great matches.
Some fantastic putts at the end. Great finish.
I loved the overhead shot of the crowd surrounding MacDowell after the win was conceded, and pulling up to height, showing the huge gallery surrounding the green.
Fantastic stuff.

Our money isn't coated... The whole note is polymer

It reduces counterfeit notes because it's bloody hard to get ink to stick to polymer without being easily smudged. It also means that you can have a $50 note go through the wash and not get damaged.

Aussie money = win

in europe you can drink anywhere and you don't have to be held hostage by the credit companies to get a loan
