Scenes of mall madness ’89. Fond for some, a nightmare perhaps for others.
That was a stroll down memory lane. I enjoyed every minute of it. We didn't have a "Tape World" in my town, but we did have a "Tape Town".
Edit..... thanks to HD, fixed my link. That was a posting at 4:30AM on no sleep fail.

Funny story, I was about 15 and I got a good bit of money from my birthday and doing yard-work for people. So I decided I was going to spend it all on Tapes.
Went to tape world, picked out about 20 tapes. I was holding all of them, making sure I had enough cash, etc.
Clerk comes over and says (very snarky) "Are you going to buy those?"
To which I answered "yes"
Clerk: (Suddenly very nice) "Oh! Well, let me help with those.." |

Before long it was time to crimp my mullet. I hadn't yet managed to pull on my DayGlo bike shorts when my brother bust into my room to tell me that it was time to go to the roller rink. Uh oh! Running late. No time for laces gotta go with the gnarly velcro high tops.

Funny how, twenty years later, most of them are rarely seen anymore, with the exception of Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, and Sean Penn. '80s heartthrobs, then and now - Picture Stories

I think that was earlier in the '80s and may have had something do do with Madonna or Cindy Lauper
