I know malware and viruses are hard to get out of computers. Is there anyprogram I can install now so that in the event that this laptop gets infected, I'd already have the stuff ready to clean. I try not to do anything to get viruses but you never know. I run Avast! and Windows Defender.

thats how you make a computer last: 1 hdd for apps and 1+ for storage. if there is a better way please tell me. |

And your important files should be on a another no OS drive for sure.
FYI most are not that tough to remove if you can determine exactly what the infection/malware is.
Good luck,

Lots of businesses use it, too! It scans your files, and continues with updates, often...

Ever since I've been using that combo I only find tracking cookies when doing a virus scan. I also have a 64bit OS. From what I understand that helps a bit too. |

And never use Microsoft Internet Explorer. It's like putting up a sign that says, "PLEASE INFECT MY COMPUTER"

Anti-virus, anti-rootkit, spyware, and a couple of other monitoring programs running in the background that is supposed to keep network traffic and personal info secure. |
