Pretty smart if you ask me, but sad he was unable to get the care he needed through regular channels. Jail is better than death though! Man robs bank for $1 to get medical care in jail - Health - Health care - msnbc.com

I think that says something by how little attention our healthcare system pays to those that have fallen through the cracks. I wish I knew how to fix it as complaining won't do any good,....but if people are opting for jail time in order to get medical attention,....that's pretty sad.
In fact searching through the news stories I can't even find the article,...but I remember the day they did it since the bank the attempted to rob was a block away from where I was working at the time. |

Instead of finding a way to pay for his medical care, he breaks laws so he can make the government pay for it.

This man was willing to give up 3 years of his life (at least thats what he was hoping for) in order to cover care that he could not otherwise afford. I dont know his entire situation as to why he can't afford care, but it is pretty sad that this is what he felt he had to resort to.

Unfortunately, proper medical care is becoming a luxury that only the rich can afford. |

| | | | And a symptom of how much of a sick, greedy society we have become is the fact that many (usually those with plenty of money) say that "healthcare isn't a right, not a privledge". Yeah..... |

Starting with Obamacare, companies will begin to stop providing health care to they're employees.
Never quite understood why I could independently buy my car insurance, but not health insurance. Well I guess I can for $1000 a month, but why is it so unaffordable? Oh yeah....... greed.
The health care system will always be a failure as long as its for profit. Any industry that is dependent on others suffering is flawed in principal.

-Mike | Self-preservation is one of the most strong innate drives in humans. If you were up against a wall with regard to your health, are you saying that libertarian ideals are going to win out over continuing to live?
