There have been a long line of ND cover-ups lately. Seems this could be another one at the moment. |

Or did you just read someone's blog on the web?
And if this turns out to truly be a hoax that Te'o cooked up himself, I don't see how Notre Dame is the least bit responsible for it. It's a story that would allegedly have been crafted by a young adult, gobbled up by the media, and all too willingly swallowed down by everyone that would listen. Notre Dame might have been the beneficiary of the publicity but the public was more than generous in giving it to them.

And the kid falling to his death was widely reported. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoot...e-dame-tragedy

| Those stories were widely reported by legit news organizations. In fact, ND was shamed into launching an investigation AFTER the fact.

But Notre Dame's press release on this directly contradicts things that Te'o has said all year about his girlfriend. It also contradicts things the Notre Dame AD has said about Te'o regarding his girlfriend. So while it is possible that ND was lied to and duped by Te'o, now is the time for them to put that out there if it is true. It seems however at the moment that they are hoping this goes away. Hard to judge that part just yet as the story is still pretty new and still developing.
All I'm saying is that Notre Dame has blocked the truth from getting out in the past by doing nothing more than stalling for as long as they can. They don't want the disgrace anymore than Te'o does. I don't think they were involved in the hoax, but understanding what they knew and when they knew it becomes paramount in knowing how complicit they were in the hoax continuing. They obviously new before the game. I know that's a bad time to release something like that, but at least shows they are concerned with things other than Revelations also, pun intended. |

The sad reality here that is pissing me off is that you're blindly disregarding the hundreds of crimes that happen all over the nation at colleges everywhere, involving athletes, simply because this happens to be the flavor of the day. If this were Michigan, I have to believe that the Notre Dame family would have a lot more class and respect for the victim/alleged perpetrator and allow all of the details to come to light before passing judgments out so freely.
I think I'm done here. It's like arguing with a four year old.
